Overview[edit]
- Importance of construction inspections
STEP divides the construction process for LID practices into five categories:
- Pre-construction
- Excavation and grading
- Backfill granular, utilities and pipes
- Finishing grades: inlet, outlet, and surface layer
- Post-construction
The first three categories of construction process are fundamentally the same for all ground-level LID types. For example, the STEP-recommended processes for excavation do not differ between practice type: excavation is excavation, whether it is for a bioretention or a permeable paver facility.
